CaldrionSubmit an opportunity

ii.MBA & Graduate

From business school to the committee room.

Two programs for MBA candidates and graduates: a summer associate role between your first and second year, and a two-year associate program after you graduate. Both put you on live work, alongside principals.

01Programs

Two programs, one standard.

Both programs are based in New York or Sydney, depending on the team. Graduates of specialized master’s programs—an MFin, MSF or MS in Real Estate, for example—are welcome to apply to the Associate program.

MBA Summer Associate

Summer · Around 10–12 weeks

For MBA students between their first and second year. You’ll own a live workstream on one of our pillar teams and present your recommendation to the investment committee at the end of the summer.

  • First-year MBA students
  • One pillar team for the summer
  • A final presentation to the investment committee

Post-MBA Associate

Full-time · Two-year program

A full-time program for MBA graduates. You’ll rotate across two pillars, or a pillar and portfolio operations, working directly with principals.

  • Graduating MBAs and specialized master’s graduates
  • Two rotations over two years
  • A path to senior roles based on performance

02The work

What you’ll own.

Associates lead workstreams. They don’t just support them.

  • A live workstream

A defined piece of a live opportunity—an underwriting model, a diligence workstream or an investment thesis—that you take from first pass to final recommendation.

  • Your case to the investment committee

Decisions are made by a small internal investment committee that meets weekly. You’ll present your work to it and defend your conclusions.

  • Direct access to principals

There are no layers between you and the people making decisions. You’ll work with principals and sector heads every day.

  • Life after closing

Post-MBA associates stay with investments after they close, working on value-creation plans with management teams, financing and asset management.

  • A view across the firm

Our private credit work informs our real estate underwriting, and our digital asset research sharpens our macro view. You’ll see how the pillars inform one another.

03Who we’re looking for

Operators with an investor’s judgment.

MBA candidates and graduates with prior experience in investing, investment banking, consulting, operating roles, real estate, credit or technology, and the traits we call the Caldrion DNA.

Investment judgment

You can form a view, put numbers behind it and change your mind when the evidence changes.

Entrepreneurial instinct

You see what needs doing and do it. You’d rather build something than manage a process.

Low Ego, High Integrity

You welcome challenge, know what you don’t know and act with discretion as a steward of the family’s reputation.

04Growth

An accelerated apprenticeship.

Our associate programs are an accelerated version of the apprenticeship of capital.

  • Mentorship

You’ll work with a senior mentor who reviews your work, gives candid feedback and helps shape your path.

  • Investment committee exposure

You’ll sit in the room where decisions are made and learn how principals weigh risk, structure and people.

  • Certifications

We support advanced certifications, such as the CFA and CAIA, through tuition reimbursement.

  • A path forward

Strong summer associates may receive an offer to join the Associate program after graduating. Associates who perform well can progress to senior investment roles.

05Recruiting

06FAQ

MBA & graduate questions.

More answers on our careers overview.

Do I need investing experience?

No. Prior experience in investing, investment banking, consulting, operating roles, real estate, credit or technology all fits well. What matters most is judgment, rigor and a genuine interest in principal investing.

Can a summer associate role lead to a full-time offer?

It can. Strong summer associates may receive an offer to join the Post-MBA Associate program after graduating, depending on the needs of each team.

I’m completing a specialized master’s. Which track should I choose?

Choose MBA & Graduate in the application form if you’re looking for a full-time Associate role after graduating. If you’re still studying and looking for a summer role, choose Internship.
